The assessment of the knowledge and skills acquired will be done through a written test. The written test will consist of 5 questions. Students of LINGUE MODERNE PER LA COMUNICAZIONE E LA COOPERAZIONE INTERNAZIONALE will also take an oral exam. The evaluation will be based on the number of correct responses, making it possible to partially correct answers; formal and exhibition adequacy; expressive clarity and the ability to organize the argumentation.

The course aims at giving a basic and introductory knowledge to Second Language Acquisition, Language learning and Language teaching, focusing on Italian.

First part (35 hours):
• What is Language teaching
• Theoretical approaches to Second Language acquisition
• Stages of development in Language acquisition
• Interlanguage and errors
• Teaching phonetics and phonology
• Teaching grammar, lexicon, semantics and pragmatics
• Approaches and methods in Second Language teaching
• Testing Language skills
Second part (15 hours):
• Teaching pragmatics in Italian as a L2
