The course aims to provide students the theoretical and practical knowledge to collect the patient''s full history and identify the clinical signs of the disease
At the end of the course the student must be able to:
-to collect a complete patient history
-to perform a general exam
-to perform a complete abdominal examination;
-to perform a complete cardiovascular examination;
-to perform a thoracopulmonary examination;
- to perform a neurological examination
- to measure blood pressure;
- to observe peripheral and central heart rate;
- to know the meaning of the most common signs and symptoms of illness.
- to compile in its various sections and update the clinical records, using the correct semeiological terminology
- to start applying the logical tools of clinical reasoning

General physical examination
Constitutional type, anthropometric parameters, overall health
Physical examination of skin, subcutaneous tissue, mucosa, lymph nodes
Physical examination of the head, face, neck
Physical examination of the chest
Inspection, palpation, percussion, auscultation

Peripheral arterial pulses and central venous
Blood pressure

Neurological examination
Mental status evaluation
Assessment of motility, sensitivity, tendon reflexes
Cranial nerve assessment
Physical examination of the joints: osteoarthritis, arthritis
Elementary dermatological lesions, itching, jaundice, edema, cyanosis, pallor
