Knowledge of mechanics of solids and structures
verification of learning
The exam is composed of a written test and an oral examination.
The written test includes
1 exercise concerning the frames;
1 or 2 exercises concerning the verification of sections in reinforced concrete.
The oral examination, which can be accessed if the written test has obtained a minimum of 16/30, covers all the topics treated in the course.
Educational goals
Basic knowledge for the calculation of stresses, strains and deplacements of the plane frames
Knowledge of static and kinematics of the continuum
Application of numerical methods for design and verification of simple structures of reinforced concrete and steel
Course syllabus
The main topics covered are
1.-Method of loads and displacemnts applied to plane frames (8 hours).
2.-Design and verification of reinforced concrete sections using n method (20 hours).
3.-Introduction to ultimate limit states (8 hours).
4.-Introduction to Limit analysis (12 hours).
