CHIRURGIA GENERALE E SENOLOGICAPre-requisites are stated by the degree program. In order to be able to follow the course, the student should have knowledge of surgical and breast semeiotics, surgical pathology, anatomy and diagnostics of the major pathologies that require surgical treatment.

CHIRURGIA GENERALE E SENOLOGICAThe aim is to teach the student, through the frontal lessons, the diagnostic and therapeutic aspects and the main clinical aspects of the most common pathologies that need a surgical treatment and of the breast diseases. The student will have to acquire the basic knowledge of pathophysiology of the various organs and apparatus, the theoretical knowledge and practices necessary for the recognition of diseases affecting the different organism systems. At the end of the course, the student should have the basic concepts to provide nursing professional assistance in the most common surgical and breast pathologies, both benign and malignant. The student will know how to treat them, pplying critical decision-making and evidence-based practice.

2. Breast pathology: semeiotics, benign and malignant pathology, surgical therapy
3. Thorax pathology: pleural effusions, lung tumors
4. Pathology of the esophagus: caustic esophagitis, esophageal diverticula, tumors of the esophagus, hernia jatale
5. Pathology of the stomach and duodenum: complications of gastro-duodenal ulcer, tumors of the stomach
6. Pathology of the small intestine and colon: acute appendicitis, intestinal infarction, diverticular disease, colon tumors
7. Intestinal obstruction: intestinal ostiasis
8. Pathology of the perineum and of the anus: rectal prolapse, hemorrhoids, abscesses and perianal fistulas, anal fissure
9. Hernias of the abdominal wall: inguinal hernia, crural, umbilical, epigastric, laparocele
10. Pathology of the liver and biliary tract: gallbladder stones, biliary tract, liver and biliary tract tumors
11. Pancreatic pathology: acute pancreatitis, pancreatic pseudocyst, pancreas tumors
12. Pathology of the thyroid and parathyroids
13. Generalities on transplants
