There are no prerequisites expected.
The learning will be verified by an oral exam.
The oral exam consists in a presentation of the themes seen during the course, and its purpose is the accertation of the candidate’s preparation on the texts in object, and his or her ability of give a critical interpretation of it.
The objects of the valutation are:
1. the lessical property of the exposition (5 points);
2. the correctness of the conceptual analysis of the texts (10 points);
3. the acquisition of an effective learning methodology (5 points);
4. the critical ability and autonomy of the student (10 points).
The course aims to develope certains specific knowledges relative to:
1. General analysis of the philosophical thought, with particular attention for their political-social communicative value.
2. Comprehension and interpretation of the symbols used in a particular historical period, as in the first decades of the Twentieth Century, exploring their persistence and incidence on the collective immagination.
To this end, the course specifically insists, in addition to some general themes on the study of symbols, on the reading and interpretation of a well-known standard text about the philosophical thought. All of that, not just to help the students to approach to the reading of classics in the key of the symbolic analytics, but also with the purpose of consent the individuation of the most evident symbols in the text. The purpose of this choice is to show the way the author communicates, through these symbols, a collective unease and a deep identity crisis, and the way he tries to comunicate, through the symbols as well, the possible excape routes.
Specifically, students must be capable of critically analyse and interpretate the political symbols in the light of what they have learned on the course.
Students must also prove to know how to independently use the indispensable symbolic cathegories for an analytical understanding of the processes by which the great identities of the collective immagination and of the individual forma mentis are built.
The course develops on three didactic and training lines that contemplate:
1. The analysis of the political-social symbols in their generality.
2. The analysis of the symbolic content of the proposed text.
3. The interpretative-critical modes of the symbolic content, related to the formation of the collective immagination.

The activities take place in frontal lessons, in which the teacher illustrates the course content asking for the interactive partecipation of the students by interventions, questions and reflexions, in a tight dialectical comparison between teacher and student.
