After a very thorough evaluation, concerning the years 2011-2016, the prestigious international magazine Computer Networks Timeless Impact Paper Award has chosen the article "Security, privacy and trust in the Internet of Things: The road ahead" published in January 2015 signed by professors Sabrina Sicari, Alessandra Rizzardi and Alberto Coen Porisini from the University of Insubria and Luigi Alfredo Grieco from the Polytechnic university of Bari, with whom the Insubria group has been collaborating.
The article - that has received over 1800 citations to date (source Google Scholar) from all over the world researchers - examines the issues of security and privacy in the context of the increasingly widespread Internet of Things technology, pointing out how traditional security techniques were inadequate when it came to facing the risks associated with a world where everything is connected, thus laying the foundations for the development of techniques able to guarantee privacy’s security and respect for the Internet of Things.
